Creator Q&A

Tell us about yourself

I'm a mom by day and a novelist by relatively early in the morning. I live in Pennsylvania with my family, where I wish I could eat peach pie as often as most writers drink coffee.

I've loved creating stories since I learned how to write—and even before then! When I started publishing the Road Trip Rescue series in 2023, I knew I wanted to have the books available in audio as well. How fun that because of audiobooks, families can listen to the Road Trip Rescue series together while they're on a road trip!

What inspired you to make this title(s)?

My first inspiration for Road Trip Rescue came when my family was planning a trip to the Adirondack Mountains in New York. I was researching online for things to do while we were there, and found a photo of a dog eating ice cream.

The photo sparked a series of questions in my mind. What if a girl saw this photo and was convinced it was a dog she lost years ago? What if this dog had been her best friend? What if she was willing to do whatever it took to bring him home?

"I also recommend this series for grown-ups who want their kids to read books with imperfect characters who make mistakes and experience the consequences of their actions"

Who do you imagine listening to your audio?

The Road Trip Rescue series is written for kids ages 8-12. It's great for those who love reading true-to-life adventures and friendship and family stories with quirky characters, and for readers who might feel alone, isolated, insecure, or not sure how they fit into the world.

I also recommend this series for grown-ups who want their kids to read books with imperfect characters who make mistakes and experience the consequences of their actions, in order to see the depths of God’s grace and redemption.

I hope that the kids who listen to these stories will see that they are wonderfully created for the unique adventures in their lives, they are not alone, and they are loved.

Is there anything different about making audio for Yoto?

Yoto is a fun screen-free way for kids to experience the joys of storytelling! As a mom, an author, and a former kindergarten teacher, I love that Yoto allows kids to expand their imaginations through listening to stories.

What’s next?

I'm currently working on Road Trip Redemption, the third and final book in the Road Trip Rescue series. After that, I'll be starting a new series for kids. Sign up for my email list at beccawierwille.com/newsletter to stay posted on any book news!
